Vanessa BillExperience:
Vanessa has worked in the fitness industry for over 10 years.  She began her career at The Fitness Firm in member services before completing her group fitness certification.  When the club needed a backup Pilates instructor, she began apprenticing to teach Pilates classes as well.  Vanessa continued teaching classes throughout college, teaching 20-30 classes weekly when she finished school.  In 2003, Vanessa did her intensive Pilates certification training through STOTT in Toronto.

Areas of Expertise:
Due to her passion and background in goal setting, Vanessa brings these theories forth in each Fitness Consultation.  Without a clear vision of where each person wants to be, it’s difficult to map out an action plan of how to get there.  For this reason, a lot of emphasis is placed on goal setting to help each member create their ideal physical state.  With her Pilates training, Vanessa is also able to help identify postural and muscular imbalances in each consultation which can prevent injury and help promote correct body alignment.  The number one reason, people seek assistance in fitness, is to alleviate physical pain.

Training Characteristics:
Vanessa believes in balancing the body from front to back and side to side.  If the muscles in the body are equally strong and equally flexible, there is less chance of imbalances and therefore, chance of injury.  For each new personal training client, Vanessa assesses these components and helps match each person up with the trainer that would be most suited for them.  Matching people up with similar personality types, as well as basing on injuries, pain and type of training necessary, helps create strong relationships between the trainer and their client.
