Registered Massage Therapy

Matt Banks is our full time Registered Massage Therapist and Elite Personal Trainer.  He completes a one hour assessment on new clients and continues with treatment in one hour or thirty minute sessions.  Matt specializes in Active Release Therapy (ART), and is also a Sports Injury Therapist.  Along with ART, Matt uses a compilation of myofacial release and joint manipulation techniques to manage injuries and prevent re-injury.  Being housed in a gym, Matt will often use the exercise equipment to assist and teach clients stretches and strengthening exercises.  Call the club to book an appointment with Matt Banks.

 

Clinical Services

Clinical Services is a rehabilitation program that uses exercise to treat injuries.  This service is assessed, directed and overseen by a Physiotherapist and executed by a physiotherapy assistant in house.  Sessions are suggested based on injuries and could be as little as 30 minutes once a week up to three sessions of 60 minutes each.  Regular reassessmet by the Physiotherapist is required to continue with this program.  Call the club to book a complimentary assessment.  Initial assessments and re-assessments are free of charge.  Please check your extended health care plan to learn your physiotherapy coverage.

 

Functional Range Assessment (FRA)

FRA is an in depth passive vs active assessment.  This assessment determines how much usable range of motion one has and if you possess the pre requisite mobility required to perform all exercise.  If one does not own adequate mobility in certain areas there will be an increased risk of injury.   Greg Orr is a Certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility specialist (FRCms) and Functional Range Assessment practitioner (FRA).  The Functional Range is a trademarked system of mobility and joint control training backed by scientific research developed by world renowned musculoskeletal expert Dr. Andreo Spinea.   As a Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist Greg works to optimize a humans ability to move freely, increase joint health and longevity, improve athletic performance and decrease overall risk of injury.  If you are looking to optimize physical well being this system of training backed by scientific principals and research is the only way to make you a simply better human.
