Group Fitness Class Descriptions

BODY BAR:  High paced 45-minute class will get your heart pumping. Using a combination of free weights and body bar doing precise movements this class helps create a sculpted physique.

CYCLE:   An intense cardiovascular training class geared to all fitness levels on a stationary bike. Burn up to 500 calories!

ESSENTRICS:  A full body workout that rapidly changes the shape of your body through a dynamic combination of strengthening and stretching. The technique develops lean, strong muscles with immediate changes to your posture, mobility, and vitality.

MOBILITY STRETCH AND STRENGTHEN:  Beginning with 20 minutes of mobility exercises to open joints, the class will then move into resistance exercises to strengthen overall muscles in the body, and finish with a thorough whole-body stretch.

PILATES: This class emphasizes spinal, pelvic and rib alignment, breathing and development of a strong core. Builds flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the core and other muscles.

HATHA YOGA:  Hatha is a general term that includes most yoga styles. It is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which helps bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation. Most Hatha classes will be relatively gentle, slow and great for beginners or students who prefer a more relaxed style where they hold poses longer.

FOCUSED FLOW:  A slow-to-moderate paced flow of yoga postures. Moving from pose to pose synchronized with breath. We may or may not add weights in this class to boost lean muscle growth and increase cardio demand ending with flexibility and shivasana.

BIKE & BARRE:  Using a mix of elements such as dance, Pilates, yoga, and functional training. Moves are choreographed and move well to music. You will use the barre (in this case, the stationary bike) in each workout as well as other tools such as weights and mini-weights to sculpt, slim, and stretch your entire body.

MUSCLE MIX: A 45-minute high-energy class that incorporates cardio, strength training, and HIIT concepts. Finishes off with a stretch. Monday’s at 6 am focuses on Butts and Core.
